Easter

We switched things up for Easter this year. We started off at Kevin's parents house for Easter lunch with the family. The kids and Allie opened their Easter Baskets and then we went out to hide some Easter Eggs for the kids to find. They loved looking for the Eggs throughout the backyard! When all of the eggs were found, we went inside and emptied them all out. Of course mommy and daddy got the candy since we don't let them eat a bunch of candy. After everything settled down, it was time to go to my parents for Easter Dinner. 

 

When we got to my parents house, the kids opened up their Easter Baskets and did another Easter Egg hunt inside the house. They each had 2 colors that they needed to find. The eggs this time were filled with change for their piggy banks. After the egg hunt was over, we had our dinner. After we were done eating, Kevin and Tommy went outside and hid the Easter Eggs again! So the kids were excited to do another hunt! When they found all the eggs and went inside, they were thinking that there would be more change in the eggs. But they were empty! We had a great Easter with our families!

April Camping Trip

We just got back from our first camping trip of the year. We went back to Thousand Trails Chesapeake Bay. They were doing a lot of upgrades to the facility. The outdoor pool was being renovated, the tennis court and the putt putt course was also being renovated. That didn't stop us from having a good time! Kevin's parents, sister & brother in law, cousins and aunt all camped with us. Our friend Mike & Amy and their kids rented a Cabin for the weekend! On Saturday our friends James, Amanda and their daughter Rachel came to hang out with us. Thursday and Friday Kevin still worked but instead of going into work, he just went to the Adult Lounge and hooked up his laptop their to do his work so he wasn't bothered with all of the loud noise at the campsite.

Kevin finally got Caitlyn to pedal on her bike this weekend! Of course when she finally learned to pedal, she started to get faster and faster! They didn't get to play on the putt-putt course because it was being renovated, but they did get to play on the playground! The adults played on the shuffleboard court for a few hours!

Saturday night we grilled Steaks for dinner! It was Jadyn's 10th birthday so we had some Cake too!! After dinner we hung around the fire and watched the race. It was a very relaxing weekend! The kids were not ready to leave on Sunday. They kept asking when we were camping again. Our next camping trip isn't until the end of May when we have our annual Charlotte camping trip!

Zoo trip

Earlier this month is near 80 degrees, so I took the kids to the Zoo! Of course when we got there, there were 3 bus loads of kids being dropped off! This was the first time that I took them by myself. They are started to get too big for the strollers and wagon, so I let them walk by themselves. I told them before we got out of the car if they didn't listen to me we would go back to get the wagon and they would ride in the wagon instead of walking by themselves. Even though it was super busy, the kids did great and listened to me the entire time. Ashton's favorite monkeys were not on exhibit the day we went because they were remodeling their habitat. Brittany loves the bears. She calls them Brittany's Bears, but she does not like the Orangutans at all! She will not go near them!
