Snow tubing

We spend the weekend in Gordonsville, VA with Kevin's sister, brother in law and niece for a nice relaxing get away! We spent 3 nights in a cabin at Shenandoah Crossing Resort. We got there Friday evening, so we didn't do too much. Saturday morning we went to Charlottesville and round around UVA. Took the kids to see where the UVA Baseball, Basketball and Football play. Ashton was loving it.

After going around UVA, we headed back to the cabin for a little rest before going to Massanutten for some night time tubing. We have never been tubing before, so we were excited to go.  Our lift time was from 7-9pm. We got there around 6, so after we checked in and got our tags, we walked over to where people were skiing and snowboarding so the kids could watch them for a little bit.

Once it was our turn to go tubing, we got our tubes and went up the conveyor belt to the top of the hill. Caitlyn and I went down together first. After we all went down the first time together, the kids wanted to go alone. We would go alone or go in groups of 3-4! We all had a fun time! A few videos posted. The first one is Caitlyn and I taking our first trip down the hill. The second one is Kevin, Allie and I going down the hill together and Brittany and Ashton were riding together in the lane next to us. The last video is me going down by myself getting spun at the beginning.

Sunday was a lazy day for us. We spent the day at the resort. After breakfast, we went and played putt putt. It was a little chilly, but we still had fun with a few good laughs! Once we were done with putt putt, we went back to the cabin and ate some lunch. When our food was settled, we god ready to go to the indoor pool and hot tub. We played around in the pool for about an hour or so, then went back to the cabin. We made a spaghetti dinner, watched some football and a movie. We had a nice relaxing weekend getaway!

Snow days

We got our first snow fall of the year. 7 days into the new year! It started snowing Friday evening and didn't stop until Saturday evening. We got about 10-12" of snow! Schools are already closed for Monday and Tuesday due to the side roads not being passable yet and the temperatures are not suppose to get above freezing in the next few days. It was very windy today, but after lunch we took the kids and Shea out to play. Shea wasn't too sure about the snow at first, but she had a great time running and jumping around in the snow.

We only lasted about an hour outside because it was so cold and windy. It made it hard to keep our eyes open at some points. So we came in and make snow cream and hot chocolate!

Monday was a little bit warmer (not too much, only abut 23 degrees) but we were able to go outside and play in the snow again!
