Gatorland

Monday we went to Gatorland. We got there when it opened so it wouldn't be as busy at in the middle of the day! We started off with a "Close Encounters" show. They didn't do any close encounters with Alligators, but they did some with a taranchula and a snake. At the end of the show, they were letting people hold a huge snake for a donation, so Kevin did!

After the Close Encounters show, we went to see Gator Wrestling! Sounds pretty cool right?! Yeah, it was!!   They instructor called a volunteer from the audience to pick out an alligator for him to wrestle. So a 5 year old boy picked out probably the biggest alligator that he could find! The instructor pulled up the alligator by his tail and quickly jumped on his back. He showed us the quickness of the alligators jaw and different things about it. He also showed up how to put an alligator to sleep! Pretty neat!!

After the Alligator Wrestling, we went to the petting zoo so the kids can see the animals. Then we watched the Jumperoo show. The jumperoo show was alligators jumping up from the water to get chicken that was dangling from a piece of string above them. They only jumped to noise (since they were trained that way). The side that we were on wasn't very good. They only got 1 of the 2 chickens. But it was still cool to see!!

The rest of the day we walked around the park seeing all of the different animals. It was really hot and the kids started to get a little uncomfortable. We decided to call it a day after a while (we were there for about 5-6 hours!) On the way out, we saw a little water area, so we stripped the kids down to their diapers and let them run around a little bit to cool off. Since Kevin and I were really hot too, we ran around a little bit with them! It felt wonderful to cool off!!

We headed back to the resort to relax for the evening. We were getting up early to be at Magic Kingdom when it opened!
