July 4th Camping Trip

We spent July 4th at the Thousand Trails campground. On Friday for lunch they had a free hotdog lunch at the pavilion for everyone staying at the campground. It was very nice of them to do for everyone. Later on that day, they had a Water War between the adults and kids. They had a haywagon for the kids to ride around with their water guns to get all of the adults wet. However, the adults at the campsites were able to use their water hoses! The kids had a blast riding around getting soaked!

Saturday they had a kid's carnival set up from 12-4pm for the kids to enjoy. They each got a stuffed animal, 7 free game tickets and 3 free concession tickets. They played carnival games, got some popcorn and sno cones. They had balloon darts, pick a duck, fishing for tickets, bean bag toss, milk jug and a speed pitch game. The kids had a blast!! It started to rain later that evening and the kids played in the rain for about an hour. On Saturday evenings, the campground usually has a dance with a DJ that we always go to. Ashton always goes up to the DJ to request a song. (Usually a Luke Bryan song). He went up and requested "Games" and he they gave him the microphone and actually let him sing the song. He did very well considering everyone was watching him!

Sunday our neighbor took out his Jet Ski and tube and pulled us around the river. It was the first time the kids have been swimming in the river. Brittany was scared to get in at first, but then she didn't want to come out! Kevin put the kids on the tube and pulled them by running in water. The loved it! We didn't spend too long in the water though.
