UVA & ODU Baseball Game

We took the kids out of school early to go to the UVA @ ODU baseball game at Harbor Park. It was suppose to be a night game, but since the Tides had a game at home that night, they had to change it to a noon game. I knew the kids would love to miss school to go to the game since their 2 favorite players that play for ODU were seniors and they wouldn't get to see them play much after they graduated. Before the game the kids got their pictures taken with them. Of course we sat right behind the ODU dugout. Kevin and I were wearing our UVA shirts and the kids were in their ODU shirts. UVA ended up winning the game.

Kids and new member to the family!

Last month we got a new member to the family! We got a Miniature Schnauzer! We got her when she was 7 weeks old and is now 14 weeks old! The kids love her!! I can't believe in a few months the kids will be 6! Where as at the time gone?! Brittany just lost her 2nd tooth, Caitlyn has lost 1 tooth and Ashton doesn't even have a loose tooth yet! They are almost done with Kindergarten and going to be 1st graders soon. We took the kids to see Beauty and the Beast at the Ferguson Center with Karen and Paul. The kids loved it!! A few weeks ago, we went to our first home ODU game when they played VA Tech. It was FREEZING out!! Connor came up and talked to the kids before the game. The kids were excited about that!! Brittany got excited when Nick said hi to her before the game started too. Connor and Nick are the kids favorite players for ODU. They became their favorite players last year when they played for the Peninsula Pilots. They would always give high fives to the kids after the games or take a picture with them and it meant a lot to the kids and us. We are starting Machine Pitch baseball this season! I'm not sure how the kids are going to do with it, but Kevin has been working with them before pitching to them instead of using the tee. Season starts in April! Not too much else has been going on with the kids lately. Stay tuned for Baseball pictures next month!

Christmas

We had a great Christmas!! We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas with family and that's all that we could ask for! Spent Christmas morning at my parents house, then had Christmas lunch/dinner at Kevin's parents house and ended it at our house to see the presents that Santa left for the kids. It was a nonstop day, but we all had a good time.

Halloween

The kids had their last tee-ball game on Halloween. After tee-ball, we spent the weekend at the campground. The campground was almost full so there was tons of campers there to pass out candy. I took the kids around the campground, while Kevin took part of his cousin's Haunted Walk through at their campsite. After trick or treating was over, the campground had a lighted golf cart parade, which we entered. After the parade was over, they did awards. We won 3rd place! When we went on the parade, we saw a haunted walk through that we wanted to go to. Ashton said he wanted to go to, but the girls didn't. So the girls stayed back with Kevin's parents and we took Ashton to it. He did pretty good until the very end. The last guy scared him. I was very proud of him!

Pilots Baseball Games and TeeBall

Over the summer we attended a lot of Pilots baseball games. After the games were over, the kids would always go over to the walkway and slap hands with the players. The players would always make time for the kids and the kids loved it. Our last home game that we attended, the kids got most of the players autographs and took pictures with their favorite players. Ashton & Caitlyn's favorite player was Connor Myers #9 that plays at ODU and Brittany's was Nick Lustrino #22 that plays at ODU. They each got their pictures with them and can't wait to go see them play again.

All of the kids decided to play TeeBall this year. When we got the jerseys, they each wanted a certain number. Of course Ashton wanted #7 because of Cole Cromer who played on the team last year. Brittany wanted #22, but since they didn't have that number, she got #2 instead. Caitlyn got #9! I sent the picture of the kids in their jerseys to the guys that had the numbers. They all loved it! I'm so glad that the players care about the kids and go out of their way to make the kids smile!

First Day of Kindergarten

The kids started their first day of Kindergarten and I started my first day as a Kindergarten IA! This year we decided to put the kids on the bus the first day instead of taking them to school. They did great since they were already use to riding the bus. We have them in three separate classes again. They knew so many kids in their class which was great because Brittany was scared to go to school because she didn't think she was going to know anyone.

They have been in school for almost 2 weeks and they are doing great! We just had back to school night and we got to go into the classrooms and see what they have been doing so far and meet with the teachers again. The kids love their teachers this year and enjoy going to school (I hope that stays the same).

I got a job with Hampton City Schools as an IA for Kindergarten. So far its been great! I enjoy working with the kids. I do not work at the kids school, but it something came open there, I would love to move over to the school. The school I work at worked with my schedule so I come in after the kids get on the bus and get home before they get off the bus so I didn't need to find a babysitter or do an afterschool program.
